The Blind Pig Pizza Co.

Review

Full Review

With Abby back in Connecticut, and the last Hawaiian pizza she ate being Mellow mushroom, we had to get a good Hawaiian (or at a minimum try). We knew what we were gonna long before we walked in to the Blind Pig. However, before we could try to order we were bombarded with BBQ propaganda from our waitress. Not a good first impression. We ordered two pizzas, the primary being a pretty standard Hawaiian pizza (bacon instead of ham) and the second without bacon so Abby could limit her meat consumption. Conveniently, this also made her an expert cheese witness, but more on that later. The Bacon was super smoky and had an almost fruity flavor to it. It was very premium but overall we didn’t think it worked too well with the pizza as a whole. The pineapple was very good and so was the crust. It was charred in the pizza oven, which gave the whole pizza a smoky taste. So far so good, so what about the cheese? Whoever was responsible for the cheese was definitely a blind pig. The cheese had gone off and was somewhat sour, effectively ruining an otherwise solid pizza. Worth noting is that they served everything on old tomato sauce cans which was pretty stupid. Additionally, they had shakers full of stale crushed up cool ranch Doritos. What the hell.
