Pizzeria Bros
Looking for activities to do on our trip to Vermont we had the idea to go to Montreal for a day, it’s right there after all. Canada is the birthplace of Hawaiian pizza so we knew we had to have some. Our research concluded with a review Abby found from a lady (that Bartek keeps thinking is a neckbeard man) who said it was the best Hawaiian pizza she’s ever had and that’s the only pizza she eats! Trusting a like minded individual we decided to go. Bartek did have some doubts about the best Hawaiian pizza coming from a place called Pizza Bros but at the same time maybe it’d be fitting. Upon entering we both did a double-take - thinking that we may have mistakenly entered a blaze pizza. We were not mistaken, this was indeed a fast food type pizza place. With high doubts we ordered the Aloha on a traditional crust. The pizza was assembled and cooked in what appeared to be a space oven. The pizza looked terrible when we got it and our doubts only amplified this sentiment. It was piled high with ham and Canadian bacon and was wet. The pizza was very wet, there was a little puddle on the metal tray. Upon tasting it, however, we were both very surprised that it didn’t taste disgusting. In fact it was pretty good even with the wetness. The combination of the meats was smoky and strangely light even with the preposterous quantity. Perhaps this was the doing of the space oven. Abby really loved this ham and Canadian bacon combo and even wanted some retrospectively. She greatly appreciated the mild saltiness, the little charred bits, and of course the smokiness. The cheese was really good while the pineapple was not. It was sour and lacked flavor. The last of the toppings was a conservative portion of orange banana peppers. While they didn’t necessarily detract from the pizza they didn’t add too much either. They were a little spicy and may have contributed to the wetness of the pizza.
